The Provo City Library is open for curbside pick-up.
Starting this week, community members will be able to schedule an appointment to pick up books, DVDs, and audibles (up to 20 items).
1. Place holds on your desired materials through the library catalog. Holds may also be placed by calling 801-852-6661. In both cases you will need your library card number and PIN; if you need help accessing your library account, please call.
2. Wait 24 hours for the Provo City Library staff to fulfill your order.
3. After the 24 hour waiting period, call the Reference Desk at 801-852-6661 to schedule a pick-up time.
A: Curbside pick-up is available Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. You must call to schedule a pick-up time, as we need time to make sure we’ve collected and checked out all your items. After you set up your appointment, park in a numbered stall in the North Parking Lot and call 801-852-6679 when you arrive. A library employee will bring your materials to you after you show them your library card number and pin.
A: You can request 20 items per week, per household.
A: Traditional library materials are available for curbside pick-up. This includes books, CDs, movies, audiobooks on CD, and book club sets. Discovery Kits, board games, telescopes, Chromebooks, and Basement Creative Lab equipment are not available.
A: It takes time to collect requested items and prepare them for pick-up, so the library requires 24 hours between requests and pick-up time.
A: If all of your items are not yet available, it’s because they are still working on locating and getting them ready for pick-up. You can wait a little longer to schedule your pick-up, or call back to schedule a second pick-up when additional items are ready.
A: For the safety of staff and patrons, please do not schedule a curbside pick-up if anyone in your household is ill.
A: We’re asking that you keep the things you have checked out if possible. There won’t be any late fees! The library book drops will be open, however, the library staff don’t have the capacity to be able to process the entire community’s library returns at once. They’ve established some quarantine procedures for newly returned books, but those systems won’t work if there are too many books returned at the same time.
A: The library will offer curbside pick-up as long as the library is closed. Any changes to services will be announced via email, social media and their website.
