Ways We Communicate

We strive to keep our community informed and engaged by providing important updates, resources, and opportunities for feedback to ensure every voice is heard and every student succeeds. Here’s a comprehensive list of our communication channels.

Web Sites

Our site is the district’s one-stop shop. Explore school, district, and department information and access essential tools and information through our Parent and Community Essentials pages, which feature links to school resources, safety information, employment opportunities, and more.

Other Communication Channels:

District Mail

    • Check your mailbox for newsletters, registration and enrollment information, and event teasers.

PowerSchool

PowerSchool is the Provo City School District’s electronic student management system where student information is collected and stored. The Portal is the “doorway” into the system—giving parents access to information about their children. The PowerSchool Parent Portal gives parents and students access to real-time information that may include attendance, grades, lunch balances, detailed assignment descriptions and school bulletins. Here, everyone stays connected! Students can gain access to assignments, parents can view their child’s progress, and teachers can communicate and share information with parents, students.

Construction Update Newsletters

The bedrock of a good home is safe, secure, and trustworthy.  That’s why we’ve created a virtual Construction Newsletter; to create transparency in spending as we found new safely constructed schools.

Provo City School District has three building projects in various phases: Timpview High, Wasatch Elementary, and Shoreline Middle School, the replacement school for Dixon Middle School.

You can sign up to receive a monthly email of our Construction Update Newsletter. We will report to you the project updates over the building process.

You can also visit our website for a personal window via drone footage as we lay the brick and mortar for each school.

Quarterly Newsletter

Provo City School District’s Quarterly Newsletter, covering school programs, district updates, and important information, is mailed to every home in Provo.  These newsletter give you concise updates on registration, business, building maintenance, and other department communications. Keep an eye out for a Quarterly Newsletter Archive page, which include current and previous Newsletters.

Sup with the Sup Podcast

Sup with the Sup is our Superintendent’s podcast where Superintendent Wendy Dau chats with friends from all walks of life in our district. Available on our website, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.

Videocast

The Superintendent creates a weekly roundup videocast for specific, up-to-speed details on programs, resources, events, and more.  These videocasts are emailed to all parents and available on YouTube.

Join the Conversation

The Provo City School District’s Board of Education wants to hear from you. Your feedback is invaluable as the district looks to strengthen and improve.  The school board meets twice monthly to discuss plans for the district,  policies and other important topics.  These meetings are public and broadcast on YouTube.  We also have and will continue to host regular community meetings to discuss current topics. Social Media

The Provo City School District, along with its schools, has various social networks and media sites, including Facebook and Instagram. Each school in PCSD has a content manager (social media specialist) who works directly with the Coordinator of Communications and Public Relations to develop, coordinate, implement, and review social media at their school. Find your school’s social media accounts @Provocityschooldistrict and follow them for all the latest, up-to-date information and fun events.

Peachjar

The Provo City School District uses Peachjar to create and distribute electronic flyers. Peachjar sends District- or school-approved e-flyers directly to parents’ inboxes and posts them online to each school’s website. Here, parents can easily view them and immediately sign up for activities and events.

To view school-approved e-flyers, simply click the Peachjar button on the school’s website. Parents do not need to login to receive or view school flyers and they may opt-out of e-flyer communications. Parents may also manage their delivery preferences through Peachjar.
