Recently, students at Provost Elementary participated in their 2nd annual Cardboard Challenge in which students were invited to create new objects using cardboard and other recycled materials.
Students at Provost rose to the challenge as they created many innovative cardboard objects such as claw machines, race tracks, doll houses, arcade games and much more. Through this activity, students were able to have an immersive learning experience where they learned creativity, resourcefulness, critical thinking, teamwork, STEM skills and practiced creative play.
This activity mainly took place in the fourth grade. However, the fourth graders had an opportunity to showcase their designs to other students in the school. Not only this, but all of the designs were associated with some sort of challenge for the participants where they were able to win prizes as well.
Overall, this was a great activity where students were able to learn many valuable educational skills as they created from their own imagination using only a simple box of cardboard.
