Provo Adult Education offers excellent programs that are tailored to students individual needs. Our flexible hours can accommodate most work schedules to help you make time to further your education. It’s just that simple!
What We Do
This program aims to promote, facilitate and expand educational opportunities and employability of people in our community by acquiring the skills and knowledge necessary for self-sufficiency, fluency, and achieving employment. Other goals are to facilitate high school completion and the acquisition of the knowledge needed to pass the citizenship test.
Programs We Offer
We offer excellent programs that help people reach their highest potential. Students can complete the credit needed to earn a high school diploma, prepare to take the GED, increase their English literacy skills, prepare to take the citizenship test, and increase their skills to attend a college or university.
Adult High School Program
High School Credit Diploma
Provo Adult Education provides the necessary classes to adults seeking their high school diploma or preparation for the GED. Our courses teach the fundamentals and skills students need to attend college and begin a career. Upon completion of the needed credits, they can earn a credit-based high school diploma.
Credit Classes Schedule
Classes are held Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. or Monday through Thursday 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The cost of the first term is $25 and $10 for each term after that in a school year.
General Education Development (GED)
Provo Adult Education can help you prepare to take the GED exam. This course is for students who are ready to take the next step in furthering their education. When you pass the GED, you will earn the Utah High School Completion Diploma.
Classes are held on Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., or 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The first term is free, second term is $25, and $10 for each term after that in a school year.
Adult Skill Building Classes
We offer classes designed to help students increase their reading, English and math skills, so they are better prepared to continue their education at a college or university.

Adult English Language Learning Program (ELL)
The English Language Learning (ELL) adult program seeks to empower adult non-native English speakers in the acquisition of fluency in the English Language and in the American culture. The program also seeks to improve student’s opportunities to participate in the American society and the U.S. government.
Adult ELL Classes
English Language Learning Program provides interactive classroom instruction that incorporates all areas of language which are: speaking, listening, reading and writing. We encourage our students to set goals, improve their work skills and/or transition into a university or college after they successfully exit our program.
Adult ELL Class Schedule
ELL Classes are taught Tuesday and Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Registration fee is $30, and books cost $25.
Adult Basic Education (ABE)
This ABE class will help to improve skills in math, reading, and writing. It also aids students in transitioning to adult high school courses and helps to set students on a career path.

Classes will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Registration fee is $30.
Citizenship Preparation Course
This course will help with the understanding of U.S government. Our program will teach you the requirements of United States history and civics education to prepare for the naturalization exam.
