This week, the students, faculty and staff at Lakeview Elementary are celebrating hope and kindness. H.O.P.E. stand for Hold On, Persuade, Empower. This means those at Lakeview look out for each other and get the help of a trusted adult when someone is sad or hurting. Hope awareness combined with a pledge to act in kindness is the focus for each day this week.
To accomplish this goal, students kicked off Kindness/Hope Week with a Kindness Bracket. The bracket is a way for students to keep track of acts of kindness they perform. The student with the most kind acts at the end of the week will win a prize. Students also received yellow wristbands to wear all week as a symbol of their commitment to hope and kindness.
Along with the brackets and wristbands, each day of the week, students can participate in fun activities to help spread kindness and hope. Some of these activities include decorating their class door to represent hope, dressing up as a super hero, sitting with someone new at lunch and signing a kindness banner.
These school-wide activities are a great way for the students of Lakeview Elementary to join together in an effort to spread kindness and hope in their school. We hope their efforts will continue throughout the entire school year.
