Foreign Student Admissions
Provo City School District is excited to welcome and support students seeking entrance from foreign countries, this opportunity provides a cultural experience for both the incoming students as well as our District’s students.
Students interested in obtaining an I-20 form to apply for an F-1 visa to study in the public schools can do so for one year only, between 9th and 12th grade. Students on F-1 visas are required to pay the local school district the full, unsubsidized cost of their student’s education for the year, including the cost in local, state and federal funds. Attendance at a public elementary school (K-8th) is not permitted on an F-1 visa.

Students from other countries who are in grades 9th -12th may want to consider the option of attending school in the State of Utah for one year as a foreign exchange student with a J-1 visa. Please visit the Council on Standards in International Education travel at https://www.csiet.org/ for a list of organizations that provide international educational travel services. Organizations looking to place students in Provo City School District must have the following to request placement and submit acceptance forms.
- a current Certificate of Acceptance and
- a Sworn Affidavit of Assurance signed and notarized
