Students throughout the district participated in STEM related research and problem solving in order to present a related project to a panel of judges at the annual District STEM fair.
The judges were significant individuals from both the university and professional community. The judges first interviewed the students and used scoring rubrics to evaluate each individual’s project. Rankings were then determined by utilizing a new software program that normalizes the student’s scores to decide the overall final ranking of the projects.
Approximately 75 students had projects that were ranked high enough to represent the district at the upcoming Central Utah STEM Fair. Overall, the judges were very impressed at the outstanding work completed by all the students who participated.
