Provo City School District, in accordance with Utah State Code, permits release time from school during the regular school day for secondary students for the purpose of attending religious instruction classes offered by a legally organized church. Procedures have been developed to ensure the appropriate scheduling and handling of release time classes, particularly in maintaining the distinction between regular school and release time classes, staff, and functions.

The Board directs the Superintendent or designee to continue to enforce and facilitate procedures ensuring the effective and appropriate implementation of this policy.
