Policy 3420 Pandemic Mandated Requirements and Exemptions
During times of public health emergencies such as a pandemic, certain requirements for students, parents, and staff may be mandated by state and local officials. These guidelines could include educational contingency planning, flexibility in educational policies, and increased public protections in health and sanitation, including mandatory face coverings.
It is recognized that some persons entering into local schools may have a need for a reasonable exemption that precludes them from certain requirements. Such cases will be addressed by school officials on a case-by-case basis.
The Provo City School Board has tasked the superintendent to develop and adopt guidelines and procedures that address pandemic mandates, and also any appropriate exemptions related to these requirements.
