The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (E.P.A.) announced its annual Top Cities list, spotlighting the cities with the most significant number of ENERGY STAR certified commercial and multifamily buildings in 2021.
Provo City achieved the #2 rank for mid-sized cities nationwide, earning the most significant number of ENERGY STAR certified buildings in 2021.
Provo City ranks #1 per capita, and 16 of the ENERGY STAR certified buildings in Provo City proper are PCSD school buildings.
We’re proud of our placement on the E.P.A. Top Cities list, a national achievement worthy of praise. To quote the concluding statement from the E.P.A. list:
These regions continue to make impressive strides in cutting American energy bills and pollution through energy efficiency. Their efforts contribute to stronger economies, healthier communities, and cleaner air for all of us.
We thank Provo City School District administration, board members, and staff for making energy conservation a priority. Keep up the great work.
