Franklin students were greeted with marionette puppets as they came into a morning assembly today.

The puppets are part of the Provo District Health Alliance’s effort to educate children on the importance of dental hygiene. The puppeteers used dinosaur puppets with names like Dudley the T-Rex and Dr. Fossilrock to dance and sing songs about topics such as flossing, brushing your teeth regularly, and visiting the dentist once a year.

This traveling act visits elementary schools around the district every February for “National Children’s Dental Health Month”. While this is a fun activity for students to participate in, the main goal is that students will apply the concepts learned from the show to create and maintain lasting dental health habits.
