Board Vice President Jennifer Partridge reviewed Page 5 of the board handbook regarding Responsibilities. She focused on two of the responsibilities. The first is to keep confidential all issues discussed in executive sessions. The second was understand the distinctions of board and staff roles and refrain from performing management functions that are the responsibility of of the superintendent, business administrator and staff.
As of February 27, 2024, Shoreline Middle is on schedule and moving swiftly towards completion. The band and choir rooms are complete with painting and carpeting completed. Exterior windows continue to be installed. Additionally, the paving of new exterior basketball courts is completed and hoops are poised for installation.
As of February 26, 2024, significant strides have been made in the ongoing renovation and construction efforts at Timpview High School Phase 3.
The demolition and haul-off of the Old Academic Wing is progressing steadily and remaining on track, set for completion by April 2024. Notably, work to repair the existing administrative interior following flooding has been mostly completed and the Timpview administration will soon be moving back into the office.
Bleacher and concession buildings are projected to be completed by June 2024, followed by the Pavilion in July 2024. Additional projects, including the westside parking and parent drop-off, are slated to be finalized by December 2024, with the softball field scheduled for completion in February 2025.
Representatives from Provo City, Keith Morey and Chris Butte, came to answer questions that the finance committee had regarding some changes being requested to an existing RDA agreement with Noorda.
Paula Heyn, Dean of students at PHS and Chad Duncan Director of IT explained recent attendance policy changes and system at Provo High School.
In an effort to match THS and PHS attendance policies, PHS implemented a point system that penalizes extracurricular participation opportunities.

In an effort to get more experienced and skilled educators into our school buildings, the school leadership team has been working on shifting district and administrative responsibilities and positions across the district. Superintendent Dau presented the most recent changes.
The board has started to gather information for the pamphlet that will advertise the open positions. The board will review and give edits or suggestions to board leadership by this Friday.
