Amelia Earhart Elementary welcomed several guests into their school this morning as part of their annual Read-a-Thon. The Read-a-Thon encourages students to read out loud with someone on a daily basis and ignites students’ desire to read outside of school.
Each year, the school sets the goal of having at least one adult read with each student for 30 minutes. Parents, grandparents and other family members are invited to read with their students, as well as prominent members of Provo City and employees throughout the district.
This year, Provo City Mayor Michelle Kaufusi, school board member Julie Rash, several local police officers and many district employees read with students.
Thank you to Amelia Earhart Elementary for hosting such a great event and to all the family members and volunteers that came to read with our students.
