Beginning on Monday, December 7, Timpview High School and Provo High School will move into Phase 2 of the Return to School Plan. Phase 2 allows all students to attend school on Monday through Thursday and following the established early out schedule. Fridays will remain online learning days from home. All middle schools and elementary schools will remain in Phase 2.
The district safety committee continues to meet daily with the Utah County Health Department to review Covid data in our schools, city, and county. All decisions are made with the support of the County Health Department. As the committee has met this week to analyze the data following Thanksgiving break, the data supports a move to Phase 2 on December 7. Please note, however, that numbers are continually changing. While it is anticipated that all schools will remain in Phase 2 until the holiday break, the safety committee continues to meet daily and changes may need to occur as the data necessitates.
As always, the current COVID data for the district is updated on the district website daily. That data can be viewed at https://provo.edu/covid-19-updates/covid-19-summary/. Also, note that the State COVID Manual states that 15 or more cases at an individual school will initiate a conversation with the County Health Department about possible changes to the school schedule. Having 15 or more cases does not automatically result in an immediate change in phases.
As always, we encourage everyone to follow all state health mandates. Please continue to wear masks and practice social distancing.
