This week, both a teacher and student from Provo City School District were nominated as the Daily Herald’s “Educator of the Week” and “Student of the Week”.
Wendi Pancake, a teacher at Rock Canyon Elementary, was nominated due to her dedication to her students and career. Her colleague stated, “the kids respond to her very well and I believe that is because she works hard at developing an excellent teacher-student relationship where her students trust her and want to learn from her. I have witnessed first-hand the extra work she puts into getting to know each one of her students as she works hard at building a strong bond and relationship with each of her students.”

John Doxey, a student at Timpview High School, was nominated because of his kindness and active willingness to include those around him. The John is the SBO President at Timpview and is also on the Timpview football team. When he’s not at school, John loves to hang out with his family and friends. After high school, he is planning on serving an LDS mission and then attending Utah Valley University when he returns.
