Why I Teach: Laurel Dean Karlsven

This week’s feature is Laurel Dean Karlsven. Laurel Dean is a literacy specialist at Westridge this year, where she previously had taught first grade for many years. When Laurel Dean was a kid she would teach anybody who wanted to be taught in her little play room that was set up by her mother. She loves teaching children and believes that many generations are benefited by those who are educated.
