Earlier this morning, Scott Allen, a representative from Provo City Watershed, visited Westridge Elementary.
Fourth graders have been devising various plans about how to improve the water cleanliness in Utah Lake and today some of those students had the opportunity to present their plans to Mr. Allen.
Although all of the fourth grade students participated in this innovative project, approximately two groups from each class were chosen to present. The groups presented for about five minutes each and then Mr. Allen discussed their plans with them. He then showed them some of the filters Provo City is using to filter water and talked to them about ways they can help keep water clean for Provo.
Through this project, students were able to exercise creative and logical thinking skills to create something that could have a lasting impact on the environment of Provo.
