Last week, Wasatch Elementary sixth grade students donned their cloaks and tunics as they marched down the hallways of their school.
This event, the medieval parade, is part of the sixth grade’s annual Medieval Feast. The Medieval Feast is an opportunity for sixth graders to get a taste of what living in medieval times would have been like. Parent volunteers help serve the main feast to students, as well as decorate the gym with goblets, banners, and many other medieval items.
Learning about the Middle Ages is one of the common core lessons for 6th graders. Through participation in this event, students were able to have a hands-on learning experience as they became familiarized with many of the social aspects of the middle ages.
Overall, the students thoroughly enjoyed this opportunity to dress up and have a unique hands-on learning experience.
