As the school year wraps up, Wasatch Elementary took some time to congratulate the students, faculty, and parents who have helped make this year an academic success. Every year, the school shares the winners and awardees of 4 different awards: the S.T.A.R. Readers, the Satch Patch, Our PAWS, and the Platinum PAWS Teacher.

S.T.A.R. Readers

The S.T.A.R. Reader program is a system used to encourage students to be excited about reading. Each student who is able to read independently is eligible for participation. As students finish chapter books, they log and report their progress. They are eligible for prizes along their way, and at the end of the year the reader with the highest score receives school wide recognition.

Satch Patch

The Satch Patch is the highest award for students who demonstrate respect, responsibility, and service for their fellow students and community. To qualify, students must submit responses to questions or otherwise demonstrate their understanding of citizenship, academics, attendance, extra-curricular participation, patriotism, and service.

Our PAWS Parents

PAWS Parents is a special way to thank those who have contributed greatly to the PTO. Wasatch Elementary appreciates all of the parents who take an active role in their child’s education, and they are proud to be able to show this special recognition.

Platinum PAWS Teacher

Finally, the Platinum PAWS Teacher is a student selected award for outstanding instruction and connection. This year’s recipient for the award was Auralea Dalton, who received the award from the Principal. The presentation was broadcast live for all on campus and those at home to tune in.

This has been an incredible, if unusual year and the students, teachers, and parents have all come together to help with the unorthodox situation.

Reconocimientos en Wasatch Elementary

Al terminar el año escolar, Wasatch Elementary tomó tiempo para felicitar a los estudiantes, la facultad y los padres que han ayudado a hacer de este año un éxito académico. Cada año, la escuela da el premio a los ganadores y premiados de 4 premios diferentes: S.T.A.R. Readers, Satch Patch, Our PAWS, y Platinum PAWS Teacher.

S.T.A.R. Readers

El programa S.T.A.R. Readers es un sistema utilizado para animar a los estudiantes a entusiasmarse con la lectura. Cada estudiante que puede leer independientemente puede participar. Cuando los estudiantes terminan los libros de capítulos, registran y reportan su progreso. Tienen la oportunidad de recibir premios en el proceso, y al final del año la persona con la puntuación más alta recibe el reconocimiento de toda la escuela.

Satch Patch

El Satch Patch es el premio más alto para estudiantes que demuestran respeto, responsabilidad y servicio a sus compañeros y a la comunidad. Para calificar, los estudiantes deben presentar respuestas a preguntas o demostrar de otra manera su comprensión de la ciudadanía, los académicos, la asistencia, la participación extracurricular, el patriotismo y el servicio.

Profesor PAWS de Platino

Por último, el Profesor Platinum PAWS es un premio seleccionado por los estudiantes por su excelente instrucción y conexión. Este año, la premiada fue Auralea Dalton, que recibió el premio directamente del director. La presentación fue transmitida en vivo para todos en la escuela y aquellos en casa para ver.

Este ha sido un año increíble, aunque inusual, y los estudiantes, los profesores y los padres se han unido para ayudar con la situación, que no es ordinaria.
