Oak Springs

The Oak Springs (OS) program functions within the Utah State Hospital (USH) – the State’s sole Psychiatric hospital. Enrollment in OS is a function of students who are referred for psychiatric treatment to USH from around the state. OS serves students from kindergarten to 12th grade and also supports an Adult Education program. Students at Oak Springs are typically enrolled for a period of 9-12 months, though total enrollment time is dependent on treatment progress and is not limited to any preset parameters.  OS students are divided in their living units and for school groups by age and for older students (middle and high school) by age and gender.  The Maple Unit houses up to 24 elementary age students (boys and girls). The Cedar unit houses up to 24 middle and high school females with Birch being the counterpoint for up to 24 middle and high school males.
