The Provo City School District Board of Education values the input of all stakeholders as the Board considers decisions that impact students and student learning. An important voice among the stakeholders are the students themselves. For this reason, the school board has opened the application process for students to apply to become student officers on the board for next school year.  Applications must be submitted by May 1.

Student Representative Purpose

There are three main purposes for including students on the Board:

  1. To invite student perspectives on matters the board is discussing,
  2. To encourage more of a liaison function between students throughout the district and the board, and
  3. To actively promote and facilitate democratic governance practices in the lives of student representatives.

The school board will select two student representatives – one from Timpview boundaries and one from Provo High boundaries – for the positions.  Independence High School students can apply based on the high school boundary in which they reside.
