We thank you for your longstanding dedication and will miss you dearly!

Estela Bradley

Estela is a superb adult ESL teacher. Estela has been an integral part of the program for several years and has profoundly impacted the lives of her students. Estela prepares engaging lessons that keep her students attending and learning. Her teaching is creative and enthusiastic. She has a class store where students can purchase items with the class money they earn from class participation. She creates English learning games to play with her students. Estela’ is enthusiastic about her teaching. Her vibrant energy is contagious. One of Estela’s greatest strengths lies in her genuine care and concern for her students. She creates a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where students feel safe exploring, learning, and growing. Estela not only makes sure her students know she cares about them, but she also facilitates a bond among the students. The students feel supported by their teacher and one another. This classroom climate enhances her students’ desire to build their English skills. Estela has done great work for our program.

Rocio Casillias

Child Nutrition, Dixon Middle

Rocio is very kind, loving, dependable, and hardworking! Rocio is loved by all her co-workers, students, and her family. Rocio has been so dedicated to this program. Rocio never learned to drive, so she would walk to work (7 or 8 blocks), even in the snow. Another fun fact about Rocio is that she learned to speak English by watching I Love Lucy, Sesame Street, Three’s Company, and Laverne and Shirley. Rocio started working for the Child Nutrition Program in 1999; she worked one year at Timpview, then came to Dixon, and has worked there for 22 years. Rocio will be dearly missed by all who know and love her. We are super excited for Rocio and the next chapter in her life. Here are a few things her friends/co-workers said about her..” good friend!” “quick and funny,” “punctual, hard worker, fun and a good dancer,” “is the workhorse of the kitchen,” and “knowledgable, and very helpful.” Thank you to all of us for all the memories. We love you!!!

Mrs. Erickson has worked as an outstanding and successful educator for many years. As a math teacher for elementary CAS students, she demonstrated exceptional instructional strategies, produced high levels of student achievement, and had a proven track record of professionalism with students that fed right into our school at Dixon. Thus, it made sense when she wanted to join our math team full-time, and in the process, she stood out above all other candidates through the interviews and received genuine praise and support in the reference-checking process. We always have a great need for endorsed math teachers, especially teachers who can come in mid-year, like she did, to fill an unexpected vacancy successfully. She has been a valuable part of our math team ever since, and we are very sad to lose her as she heads into retirement. She will be missed, but we are excited for her as she heads on this next adventure!

He loves spending time outside, generally on a mountain somewhere in the world. He loves education and has always wanted to create a great environment for all district students, families, and employees. That energy and enthusiasm spill over into his desire to serve. Whether that service happens in the schools or at home with his family, everyone benefits and has benefited from his desire to make everyone’s life better around him. Linda is also a leader in her department. She supports her colleagues, shares ideas, and always focuses on what is best for kids. She contributes years of knowledge about teaching, assessment, feedback for students, and how to prepare students for both middle school and their future. Julie can be seen standing in the halls between every class period. She greets students with a smile and greets adults as they walk by. She makes everyone feel welcome and cared for. She shares ideas and speaks up when she sees the need for a change, but she does it in a kind, patient way.
