We love having the opportunity to explore the district and meet the incredible teachers, ESPs, and admin that make this district wonderful. Today we celebrate a wonderful example of academic instruction, Wendi Pancake.
Wendi Pancake, a teacher at Rock Canyon Elementary, received the Provo Way award in February 2024. Wendi is an incredible teacher who inspires awe and appreciation in her colleagues and students.
She is a skilled and adept teacher who knows how to bring the best instruction to her students. Her reputation has made her a pillar in her school community, clearly evident by seeing all her coworkers who come to her for help with their challenges.
“She is second to none as an elementary instructor,” says Joshua Smith, a Behavior Specialist at Rock Canyon. “The feeling of belonging and heartwarming welcome from her classroom environment is incredible.
“Her classroom has a sense of belonging for everyone.”
Wendi makes it a point to embrace all students and provide a safe, fun, uplifting classroom. She nurtures her students through academics, discipline, and structure for her students.
Thank you so much for all you do for Provo, Wendi. We need people like you in our schools and with our students and staff. You help the educators around you elevate the quality of education for the students you serve. We hope to bring the same passion to our work that Wendi does every day. Thank you.
