The Provo Way award celebrates and recognizes district employees for exceeding the standard in their position, creating culture, and exemplifying the positive qualities we want Provo to stand for.
Physics phenom, Big Springs Camp Counselor and guru, and friend to all, Timpview John Mcilmoil is a multigenerational leader demonstrating the applicability in a difficult-to-grasp science, a culture creator in every role, and above all, a genuinely good-hearted, kind person. Mcilmoil brings joy wherever he goes; he can joke with strangers in a way that can make one feel immediately cared for.
Timpview High School’s Principal, Momi Tu’ua, recalled how Mcilmoil has influenced their family over the years:
“I nominated John because he is totally selfless. He’s recognized the accomplishments of so many other teachers over the years and has never received the recognition he deserves.
“My children have benefited from John’s instruction; he makes with all students. Our family still talks about things he’s done for us.
“He’s a great example, and we’re so happy to celebrate him.”
Thank you, John Mcilmoil, and congratulations.
