Provo Way Recipient: Chris Chilcoat, Sunset View Principal

We love having the opportunity to explore the district and meet the incredible teachers, ESPs, and administrators that make this district wonderful. Today we get to celebrate Chris Chilcoat. 

Chris, the Principal at Sunset View, received the Provo Way award in April, 2024. Chris is an outstanding Principal who leads his school without forgetting to make personal connection with the students in the halls of Sunset View.

“The tube in my tire was popped,” explained Kahealani Hales, a student at Sunset View. “When I came back he had replaced the tube in my bicycle while I was in school.” Acts of service like this make it clear to his school community that he cares for their needs. 

Thank you so much for all you do for Provo, Chris. We need people like you in our schools and with our students and staff. You help the educators around you elevate the quality of education for the students you serve. We hope to bring the same level of passion to our work that Chris does every day. Thank you.
