Provo Way Recipient: Abby Hart, Rock Canyon Instructional Assistant

We love having the opportunity to explore the district and meet the incredible teachers, ESPs, and administrators that make this district wonderful. Today we get to celebrate a wonderful example of compassion and enthusiasm, Abby Hart. 

Abby Hart, an instructional assistant at Rock Canyon Elementary, received the Provo Way award in February 2024. Abby is an incredible educator who has earned the respect and admiration of her colleagues.

She has channeled the energy she has into creating a learning environment where the students she’s helping can learn and grow in safety and encouragement.  

“She is caring, compassionate, and has a heart of gold,” says Joshua Smith, a Behavior Specialist at Rock Canyon. “She works hard to ensure the students she works with progress in learning English.

As a dedicated ELL instructor, Abby works with individual students, which has a huge impact on their learning in the classroom. 

Thank you so much for all you do for Provo, Abby. We need people like you in our schools and with our students and staff. You help the educators around you elevate the quality of education for the students you serve.. We hope to bring the same level of passion to our work that Abby does every day. Thank you.
