“We’ve been lucky to have Stacy here at Amelia for the last years,” said Jonathan Hoehne, Amelia Earhart Title I Coordinator and Provo Way Award Nominator of Amelia Earhart Elementary Teacher Stacy James. “I’ve worked with her as a teacher and now as her Title I Coordinator, and she has a great way of connecting with kids, holding them to high expectations, and pushing them to where they need to be.”
The Provo City School District and Board of Education awarded five Provo Way awards last month. The Provo Way Award is an opportunity for the district to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community.
We congratulate Stacy James this week for receiving the Provo Way Award. All can learn and grow to become great teachers, but some seem innately gifted in helping others develop and succeed. These teachers often inspire and instill goodwill and hope not only in their students but in their peers, too.
Stacy James is that teacher. With a prescient eye for potential, James is a talented teacher who knows how to nurture good in those around her; she is pure sunshine, and those around her recognize it—to quote Hoehne once more:
“Stacy just has a gift of caring and working hard to help them succeed. We are just so lucky, and we want to celebrate that.”
Thank you, Stacy, and congratulations.
