Author Bob Proctor once said, “a mentor is someone who sees more talent and ability within you than see in yourself, and helps bring it out of you.” Often, a good mentor has tread similar grounds as their mentee, thereby knowing the snags and snares they might encounter on their path to growth.

As a Provo Adult Education graduate and now district employee, Shaylee Peterson is a perfect mentor, model, and aid for the students she comes in contact with daily.

Shayley’s positive attitude and can-do spirit have earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and the students she serves. She has helped countless students navigate the complexities of the program, providing guidance and support every step of the way. Shayley’s attention to detail and ability to anticipate student needs have been instrumental in ensuring success. Her hard work has helped many students achieve their educational goals. Her efforts have helped to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all students.

Shayley’s commitment to excellence has not gone unnoticed, and she is a shining example of the district’s core values. The Provo Way Award is a well-deserved recognition of Shayley’s hard work and her contributions to the district, and we are proud to have her as a part of our team.

We proudly celebrate and congratulate Shayley Peterson, Provo Adult Education Office Assistant, with the Provo Way Award.

Her nomination came from Provo Adult Education Staff member Kendra Jeffrey:

“Shayley is a bright light in our small group of staff members. She’s a hard worker and goes above and beyond to make sure students feel comfortable and help all staff in any way she can. She’s always enthusiastic and full of energy.”

“She’s a great example of determination and success for our students since she earned her diploma through our program and can give them advice and support. Shayley is a delight to work with, and we are lucky to have her.”

Her positive attitude, hard work, and dedication to the district’s success have made her a valuable asset to the team, and we congratulate her on this well-deserved honor. Shayley inspires all that know her, and we are proud to have her as a part of our community.

Congratulations on the award, Shayley; thank you for being a shining example of a kind and caring professional for staff and students alike.
