Scott Jennings, a teacher at Edgemont Elementary, is the latest recipient of the Provo Way Award. We recognize his incredible work in positively impacting the community through his excellence in teaching and serving as a positive role model for his students. Jennings has been teaching for many years, and over that time, he has made an immense impact on the lives of his students, forging multigenerational connections with them that last a lifetime.
Jennings has created an incredible legacy of teaching excellence, with students returning to thank him for his positive influence on their lives. According to his nominator, Mourad Jatioui, Students who attended Centennial Middle School, Timpview High School, and even Utah Valley University and Brigham Young University consistently return to express their gratitude for Jennings’s significant impact on their academic careers.
Jennings puts in the time and effort to get to know his students, understands their unique needs and challenges, and provides support and guidance when needed. His students know he genuinely cares about their success, and they trust him to provide the necessary support to achieve their goals.
Jennings’ dedication to his students has not gone unnoticed. His impact on the community is evident. He has been recognized numerous times throughout his career for his excellence in teaching, receiving a Teacher of The Year Award in the 2017-2018 school year, most recently.
