“I don’t know if anyone knows this, but school counselors at Timpview support about 350 students,” said Principal Momi Tu’ua at the most recent Provo Way Award, “and they know the students individually. This is what Rachelle Carter does.”
In September, the Provo City School District and Board of Education awarded five Provo Way awards. The Provo Way Award is an opportunity for the district to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community.
This week, we’d like to celebrate and congratulate Counselor Rachelle Carter for her longstanding dedication to meeting every student’s needs. Counselors in our district provide invaluable guidance, support, and resources to help students navigate their academic, personal, and emotional journeys– all of which Carter covers in spades.
The nomination comes from Principal Momi Tu’ua, who considers Carter a symbol of Timpview’s long-established spirit of support.
Rachelle started as an intern nine years ago, and Timpview has held firm to her ever since. Carter has been there for the ever-changing stream of students, a mainstay to anchor and direct youth towards brighter futures.
We congratulate Rachelle Carter for receiving the Provo Way Award and thank her for consistently counseling the countless students who visit her office door year after year.
Thank you.
