“I nominated Michelle because she has a list of contributions she’s made for this district,” said Larry Cook, a Leadership and Custodial Services member. Larry’s talking about Michelle McCluskey, who’s both a district custodian and bus driver, whom he nominated for the Provo Way award.

The Provo City School District and Board of Education offer Provo Way Awards each month to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community. This week, we congratulate Michelle for receiving the Provo Way Award.

Many of our support service staff shoulder not one but many unseen tasks, usually in the strange hours before daylight or in the evenings when others are clocking out for the day. You can’t help but find inspiration in someone’s unbendable positivity, and that’s Michelle to a tee. Her positivity in the face of her many daily challenges is worthy of praise, and it didn’t go unnoticed. To quote the rest of Larry’s nomination:

“I met Michelle at Centennial doing custodial work, but she does more than that. She drives the bus, drives the kids, and does bus checks at four in the morning to ensure the safety of our staff and students. She faces every situation with enthusiasm, pep, and a contagious smile. She’s one of my good friends and fantastic at what she does. I look up to her in this district.”

Thank you, Michelle, and congratulations.
