“I nominated Lisa because I have worked with her in the last few years, and I’ve seen her work with students. It’s remarkable,” said Julia Rollins, district psychologist and Lisa’s nominator. Lisa is a paraprofessional at Sunset View Elementary, and she received the Provo Way Award last month through Julia’s nomination.
The Provo City School District and Board of Education grant Provo Way Awards each month to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community.
This week, we congratulate Lisa for receiving the Provo Way Award.
What distinguishes exceptional paraprofessionals is their ability to connect with students personally and tailor instruction to meet individual needs. Lisa’s dedication to helping a specific student with special needs earned her the Provo Way Award, reflecting her outstanding contributions to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment. To quote the rest of Julia’s nomination:
“She doesn’t like to think it’s a big deal, but it is a big deal when you visit that classroom. You see how she facilitates with that student to make the classroom a seamless experience for them. It’s a marvel. It’s worth recognizing Lisa for making that classroom experience so good for that student.”
Thank you, Lisa, and congratulations.
