“Jen’s an amazing, passionate orchestra director,” said Christy Giblon, Shoreline Middle School Band Teacher. Christy is talking about Provo High and Shoreline Middle School’s Orchestra Director, Jennifer Lacayo, who received the Provo Way Award through her nomination.
The Provo City School District and Board of Education grant monthly Provo Way awards to celebrate the positive things students, teachers, administrators, parents, and staff do for the community.
Lacayo’s ability to cultivate a positive, collaborative environment garners respect from her peers and students, earning her the Provo Way Award. Giblon highlighted Jen’s teamwork and support for her fellow music faculty, stating, “Jen is a team player who navigates the challenges of dividing her time and energy with great confidence and skill. She also tries to make orchestra fun and plays engaging games to help her students learn music theory and teamwork. You can always feel the love and passion she projects in her classroom.”
Congratulations, Jen, on this well-deserved recognition!
