Last Friday, representatives from Google fiber and the United Way presented $500 awards to five teachers that participated in Digital Inclusion Week.

Many schools and classrooms around our district participated in the #ProvoGotSkills campaign. This campaign was part of Digital Inclusion Week, which was a city-wide effort to highlight digital technology and inclusion.  Select teachers were awarded for their participation in the campaign and were very thankful for the funds to provide their students with better access to technology.

Mr. Keeno, a sixth grade teacher at Provo Peaks Elementary, told his students that he would make a plan for the funds with the teachers at his grade level so they could share with the students in the other classrooms and that he would let next year’s students know that it was the work of his students this year that made the award possible.

Thank you to all for participated in this city-wide campaign and congratulations to the following teachers for receiving the award:

  • Westridge Elementary – Mrs. Leavitts’ class 2nd grade
  • Franklin Elementary – Miss Davis’ class kindergarten
  • Provo Peaks Elementary – Mr. Keeno’s class 6th grade
  • Sunrise Preschool – Miss Rasmussen’s class
  • Lakeview Elementary – Mrs. Guzman’s class 5th grade
