On Monday, September 30, and Tuesday, October 1, the Provo Police Department brought the Police Olympics to the 6th graders of the District at the Timpview and Provo High Football Stadiums.

The event consisted of 3 phases:

  1. An essay submission
  2. A physical fitness test
  3. An obstacle course

During the obstacle course, the 6th-grade body in the bleachers cheered their Olympians on as they zigzagged around the course, crawling through “sewer pipes,” cuffing and uncuffing officers, solving math problems, eating a donut, administering first aid, and finally throwing bean bags into a cornhole board.

There was a lot of energy in the stands as the students cheered on for their schools. Winners will be announced once the SROs (Student Resource Officers) evaluate students essays.
