Over the course of the past few weeks, the Provo Police Department has toured the elementary schools of Provo City School District to bring the Police Olympics to our sixth graders.

The event consisted of 3 phases:

  1. An essay submission
  2. A physical fitness test
  3. An obstacle course

During the obstacle course, the 6th grade body sat by and cheered their “olympians” on as they zigzagged around the course, crawling through “sewer pipes,” cuffing and uncuffing officers, solving math problems, eating a donut, administering first aid, and finally throwing bean bags into a cornhole board.

After adding together the cumulative scores of all three categories, Wasatch Elementary came out on top. For their efforts, they were awarded a special “Police Olympics First Place Trophy,” a large plaque. They also earned their classmates a large pizza party from the police department.
