Provo City School District celebrated its annual Easter Basket Auction on April 22nd, 2023. The auction was a huge success, raising impressive funding for our educational programs and initiatives. The Easter Basket Auction is one of the most eagerly anticipated events in the Provo City School District calendar, and this year was no exception.
This year’s 19th Easter Basket Auction was a triumph; our baskets and live auction items sold for more than $158,000 dollars– and we’re still counting.
For those not in the know, the Easter Basket Auction partners with local businesses, the Foundation, and our schools to sponsor the district’s intervention and after-school programs. Auction attendees bid on an eclectic assortment of items and baskets, including a yacht cruise chartered through the Pacific Northwest, BYU season passes and parking tickets (which, anyone who’s tried to park for a BYU game knows how cool that is), and a helicopter ride over the lodges of Sundance, Utah.
Again, the auction raised more than $158,000 and counting. Thank you.
A special thanks goes out to Brent Brown, Dan Campbell, and Traci Rawle, who play a vital role in making the annual auction a continual success. We are incredibly grateful for The Foundation, local business partners, and our bidders. Our at-risk students depend on these programs; thank you for your aid.
We are also incredibly grateful for our community’s generosity. Many looked beyond the sweeter and more indulgent aspects of the Easter season. Beyond the candy-colored paper, confectionary concoctions, and Easter egg hunts, families forwarded funds for our Easter Basket Auction Success Fund, helping students who need our support.
To reiterate, the funds raised through the auction will support educational initiatives in the Provo City School District. These include student success initiatives, teacher professional development, scholarships, after-school programs, and educational technology investments.
The success of the Easter Basket Auction is a testament to the strong spirit of collaboration and support in Provo City, and we are proud to be a part of this vibrant community.
In closing, we would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to the success of the 2023 Easter Basket Auction. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of our students, and we are honored to have you as partners in education. We look forward to another successful event next year.
