Policy No. 3450 Social Workers

The Provo City School District Board of Education values the work and contribution of social workers hired to work in Provo City School District. The Board seeks to ensure that school social workers are equipped with the appropriate training, expertise, and experience. In accordance with Utah State standards and regulations, requirements are established for ensuring that school social workers hired to work in Provo City School District have demonstrated competence in social work practice, as well as understanding the teaching/learning environment, and the role and function of a school social worker.

The Board directs the Superintendent or designee to develop procedures for ensuring that school social workers in the district are properly licensed and trained.
