Policy No. 3241 Suspension
Provo City School District considers the welfare and safety of students and school personnel to be a top priority. In order to maintain an orderly and safe school environment for all students and staff members, guidelines pursuant to Utah State Code will be followed regarding the suspension of students, particularly in situations in which there is an immediate and significant threat to the welfare, safety, morals of other students and/or school personnel or to the operation of the school. Schools shall follow set procedures in managing disruptive behavior in cases which call for the suspension or expulsion of a student.
The Board directs the Superintendent to develop procedures for managing suspension and expulsion processes and setting conditions for a student’s return to school.
