Last May, students from Provo CAPS (Center for Advanced Personal Studies) and around the district took the plunge with a few sharks– some entrepreneurial sharks, in the student Shark Tank Entrepreneur competition.
This year, Provo CAPS is promoting and hosting a similar– yet more lucrative– entrepreneurial competition called “Invest Nest Provo.” The event is part of a statewide event founded and produced by Davies + Allen. Provo CAPS in Provo District will host the event, in which winners in the regional competition totaling up to 10,000 dollars will fund student businesses. Regional winners from the Provo competition will move up to a state competition and win even larger cash prizes.
Just as importantly, students gain competition and presentation experiences and network with esteemed professionals in their area of interest.
Entrepreneurial competitions can propel students into real businesses– ask 18-year-old entrepreneur Isabelle Kaul, who now operates a mobile detailing company funded by her win. She’s cited the funding, experience, and networking as integral to the success of her business.
If you have what it takes to win or are simply interested in trying your hand at an entrepreneurial competition, please fill out the competition form.
Sign up is due January 20th, so please sign up now!
