Timpanogos Elementary fifth graders were able to “check out” their local library last week as they toured the Provo City Public Library.

As these students toured the library, they were able to see the different sections, hear about the library resources, access library computers, and even learn how to get their very own library card. At the end of the tour, one of the librarians read a few books to the students, including one called “Three Ninja Pigs”.

Through exploring the public library, these students were able to learn all about the many amazing resources that the library can provide them. Through gaining knowledge about these resources and learning firsthand how to obtain a library card, these students are more likely to return to the library. By returning to the library, the students can gain an even greater desire to read and learn, as they will be surrounded by many books during their visit.

All in all, the fifth graders had a great time touring the library and learning about the many resources the library provides. Thank you to Provo City Library for creating the opportunity for these students to learn more about this great establishment.
