The sun is out and warm weather is quickly on its way, which means it’s time to head outside and enjoy the outdoors! One of the best ways to enjoy this weather is to begin training for a race.
Run 13 offers two big races this summer: the “Provo City Half Marathon” on May 6th and the “Hobbler Half Marathon” on July 8th. However, these events are not just for adults. Each of the events offers a kids marathon race.
Kids are encouraged to run 25 miles prior to the race day and then they will run the remaining miles at their race. It is not a requirement for the children to run 25 miles before the race, but it is strongly encouraged. The races both start at 10 a.m. and it is encouraged to arrive about an hour early.
Children who participate in the race will receive the same medals as those who run the normal half marathon or 5k. These events are a great opportunity for children to practice setting goals and living a healthy lifestyle.
