Thanks to the support of a mini-grant from the Provo School District Foundation, the 5-year-olds used disposable cameras and journals to document animals for their research and illustrations. Students are working on creating a book about an animal; this field trip gave them a closer look into the details of each animals’ life.
This project was chosen because it engages students in authentic experiences and integrates multiple skills and subjects, in a fun way. Students gain experience in process and published writing, research and animals, while exploring and having a good time.
