Amelia Earhart first graders opened their own t-shirt shop today!

Each student was able to design their own pretend t-shirt on a paper worksheet using markers, crayons and colored pencils. Following their creative work time, the students were then able to “sell” their t-shirt to their classmates.

Students were each given an envelope of pretend money and were expected to keep track of their money using addition and subtraction sentences.

The students took turns being the “buyers” and the “sellers” as they advertised their very own pretend t-shirts. Through this activity, students were able to showcase their creative art skills while also practicing math concepts in a realistic scenario.
