Kami Alvarez has been named as the new principal at Provost Elementary School. She brings over 18 years of experience in education, including time spent as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, professional learning coordination, district school improvement coordinator and a school improvement consultant. She has earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Teaching with an ESL specialization from BYU, an advanced graduate degree in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University, and is currently working on a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Foundations at BYU. She states that in choosing a career path, she decided on education because she wanted to be able to make a difference in the lives of children, specifically those who haven’t had the same opportunities as she had.
Chris Fuhriman has been named as the new principal at Wasatch Elementary School. Chris is currently the assistant principal at Wasatch. Chris began his teaching career in 2004 at Hobble Creek Elementary School in Nebo School District. Following seven years there, he taught for two years in Wyoming. He came to Provo City School District in 2013 and taught at Westridge Elementary School for 4 years and was an assistant principal at Centennial Middle School. Chris received his Bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Utah Valley University and has also completed a M.Ed. in Elementary Education at Southern Utah University and a M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from Brigham Young University.
