Meet Olivia Carter, Lakeview’s New Librarian!

Olivia Carter is the new librarian at Lakeview Elementary this year and we are excited for everyone to get to know her better!

She graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Art History and Curatorial Studies. She was able to work as an event planner at the BYU Museum of Art while she went to school

This is Olivia’s first job working in a media center, but she has volunteered at the Lakeview media center very often in the past. She has helped with both the Battle of the Books at the Book Fair. She loves working in the media center because she loves helping students find a passion with reading. She says, “I love getting books into kids’ hands. I adore seeing a self-assessed reluctant reader approach me with maybe something they’d be interested in reading and then finding that book for them. Their eyes light up as if they can’t believe that this one book that they really wanted to read really exists. It’s the highlight of my day!”

When she is not in the media center, she loves to hike, read books of all genres, and play board games with her husband.
