We would like to welcome Marianne Kraczek, who is the new librarian at Edgemont Elementary School.
Marianne attended Utah State University and has a Bachelor’s degree in both Political Science and Journalism, with a minor in History. She also has her secondary education teaching certification and taught high school in Las Vegas.
Her first experience in a media center was when she volunteered at Centennial. The following year, she began working as a library assistant at Wasatch Elementary where she stayed for two years. She said, “I had not been working long at Wasatch before I knew that I wanted to be a librarian. I was fortunate to be trained by Mary Peck, a veteran librarian, who prepared me well to take on my responsibilities at Edgemont”.
When asked what she loves most about working in a media center, she said “everything!” Marianne stated that the media center is her happy place and that her job really is as fun as it looks. When she’s not in the media center, she loves spending time with her family, reading, watching movies, traveling, skiing, take naps and going on leisurely walks with her dog.
We are so excited to have Marianne in our district. The next time you visit Edgemont Elementary’s media center, make sure to stop by and welcome Marianne to Edgemont!
