Introducing…Parent Academy!

We are so excited to announce the start of Provo City School District’s Parent Academy!

Parent Academy will provide parents the opportunity to become informed, learn new skills and connect with other parents. It will consist of workshops, classes and family activities offered quarterly. Topics will include navigating the school system, homework strategies, internet safety, positive behavior support, effective communication, understanding IEPs, mental health, literacy, successful transitions to secondary school, college readiness and much more!

The first activity will take place on September 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the presentations room at Provo High School. Our guest speaker will be Thomas Hughes. He will be talking to parents and students about common obstacles to personal growth and what to do about them as you pursue your goals. We will have advertising for this event out on social media by tomorrow.

The next presentation will be on or around Nov 5. We are working on getting United Way to come and present “Everyday Strong” for our parents.
