Hoax Threats Received in Provo, Other States

Provo City School District is aware of reports, through social media and other channels, of a threatened violent event at an unspecified school. We are in constant contact with the Provo Police Department regarding the situation. Provo PD has determined the threat to be a hoax and no credible information has been received. Other States have received similar hoax threats. Provo Police Department School Resource Officers will be at their schools today and there will be a heightened police presence in the school neighborhoods.   As always, we encourage parents to do what they feel is best and safest for their child.  Please communicate directly with your school if you choose to keep your child home today.  Thank you.
