The following will provide information regarding the spring registration of your incoming Kindergarten student in the Fall of 2025. Children who will be 5 years old before September 2 are eligible for enrollment. See Utah Code 53 G-4-402(8) and Policy 3165. Toilet Training

In accordance with HB 331 (2024), all students must be toilet trained prior to starting Kindergarten. Parents are required to complete an assurance form as part of the online registration to confirm this. If a child is not yet toilet trained, the student may be excluded from attendance until the issue is resolved. The school will collaborate with the family to create a plan, and school staff may assist parents with ideas and resources when necessary. Students with IEPs are exempt from this requirement. For any exceptions, please contact the school’s principal to discuss available support, resources, and potential accommodations.

All Day vs. Half Day Kindergarten

Full-day kindergarten is the default enrollment option, though half-day is available if requested during registration. Both half- and full-day students are taught together in the same class, following the same curriculum. Core instruction ends at lunch for half-day students, while full-day students use the extra time to reinforce and extend their learning. You can enroll your child in a full-day kindergarten to start building their academic and social skills. Contact your school for more details on how our programs can benefit your child. (Please be aware that there is no district transportation available at the end of the Morning Half Day class)

Students who live outside the school boundaries and are interested in enrolling may apply online using the Open Enrollment Application. Parents wishing to transfer their students should review the Open Enrollment policy and process before completing the online application. Transporte

Elementary school students living at least 1.5 miles from the closest entrance to the grounds are eligible for bus transportation. Students who attend a school through an Open Enrollment application do not qualify for bus services. To learn more about bus routes and transportation policies, visit the Transportation page. Provo City School District is committed to minimizing unnecessary stress for individuals with disabilities. When students with disabilities are beginning school for the first time in a Provo school, both they and their parents are encouraged to visit the school to identify any barriers that may require adaptations for their accommodations. To ensure these accommodations are in place, it is beneficial to contact the Principal early in the process.

Vacunas

For kindergarten attendance during the 2025/2026 school year, Utah State law requires the following immunizations to protect your child and others from communicable diseases:

5 DTaP (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis) 4 Polio 2 MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) 3 Hepatitis B 2 Hepatitis A 2 Varicella (Chickenpox) Important Notes:

The 5th DTaP and 4th Polio vaccinations must be given after the child turns 4 years old. The first doses of MMR and Varicella vaccines must be administered after the child’s first birthday. If your child has had chickenpox but has not received the Varicella vaccine, documentation of the disease must be provided by a licensed healthcare provider with a written note. Immunizations are available from your healthcare provider or the Utah County Health Department (UCHD).

Prueba de Tuberculosis

Utah County requires proof of tuberculosis (TB) testing for the following groups of students entering schools for the first time:

Foreign-born students from high-risk countries High-risk countries are defined as those with TB rates greater than 20 cases per 100,000 individuals (source: World Bank TB Incidence Data). Testing is required if the student has not been tested for TB since entering the United States. Students who have lived in high-risk countries This includes individuals who have spent six months or more in a high-risk country within the past five years. Testing is required if they have not undergone TB testing after their stay in the high-risk country.

To claim a personal, religious, or medical exemption from immunizations, follow these steps:

Complete the Online Educational Module
- The legal guardian must complete a free online educational module.
- A copy of the completed form must be submitted to the school.
- Access the online module here. Be sure to mark all required immunizations.
- If you do not have access to a computer, you can complete the module at the Health Department or your student’s school.

2. Medical Exemptions

- In addition to completing the online educational module, you must provide a written statement from a licensed healthcare provider.
- The statement should include the student’s medical condition and an explanation of why the vaccine would endanger the student’s life or health.
- Submit both the healthcare provider’s note and the completed online module form to the school.

Examen Físico

A physical examination, along with vision and dental screenings, is recommended for students entering kindergarten for the first time. While these exams are not mandatory, they are encouraged to help parents and teachers stay informed about the child’s health and well-being. The Utah County Health Department Wellness Clinic offers physical exams for $45. Appointments can be made by calling 801-851-7031. It is advisable to schedule physical, dental exams, and immunizations in the spring and early summer to avoid crowds in the fall.

The Child Nutrition program strives to improve student achievement through nutrition. Meal prices for the 2025/2026 school year are expected to be as follows, but may be subject to change:

Spring Kindergarten Registration Dates for 2025-26 Please note that these dates only mark the beginning of each school’s Spring Registration Kindergarten students. You do not need to bring your child for registration. Open Houses will be scheduled towards the beginning of the school year and will give you and your child the opportunity to meet the teachers, visit the classrooms and tour the school. All placement evaluations will happen once the school year starts and the school will contact you with a set appointment time.
